THE INDIA-HUNGARY JOINT DEFENCE COMMITTEE AT BHE

The India-Hungary Joint Defence Committee (JDC) paid an official visit to BHE on the 11th of May, during the Seventh JDC Meeting, held in Budapest. The Indian delegation was led by H.E. G. Mohan Kumar Secretary of Defence Production of the Ministry of Defence of India, as the new co-chairman of JDC, and were accompanied by Shri Sanjay Garg, Joint Secretary (DIP), Department of Defence Production and Shri Gopal Bhushan, Director (International Cooperation), Defence Research Development Organisation (DRDO). The Hungarian chairpersons were led by Colonel Attila Simon, Deputy Head of Department, MoD of Hungary. The Deputy Head of Mission of the Embassy of India and the defence attachés of both countries were also present.

Mr. Károly Kazi CEO of BHE welcomed the high-ranking delegations, underlining the importance of Indian cooperation in the BHE activities of more than two decades. He described the visit as recognition of long-term cooperation with Indian defence industry sector and the Indian Space Research Organisation.

In his briefing Mr. János Solymosi, Director for Defence and Space gave a comprehensive overview about BHE activities with special focus on BHE-Indian cooperation. Mr. Kazi gave an update on the ongoing and planned bilateral projects (BHE-India). The parties had consulted on these projects. The Indian Delegation also raised two more issues for consideration with the aim of strengthening the cooperation. In the second part of the programme, the JDC visited the BHE premises and BHE UAS static display.
