SELF-SUFFICIENT SENSOR NETWORKS FOR DIFFICULT-TO-ACCESS PLACES

The consortium made up by the Institute of Technical Physics and Materials Science of the Centre for Energy Research and BHE Bonn Hungary Electronics Ltd. has developed wireless network communication sensor units operating without batteries, based on new technologies and suitable for use under special conditions.

The developed devices gain energy from thermal or vibrational sources in their environment and can communicate by a new type of extremely low power radio frequency protocol. The new sensors can be used, among others, for monitoring the condition of various machines and transport infrastructures, for examination of bicycle traffic, and in vehicle control systems.
